Are you an e-book reader or thinking of buying one?? Here are some comments and studies from a recent article from CBS News on the pros and cons of E-booking:
Pros: Ease of use for travel; the ability to customize the reading experience with formatting options, such as text size and spacing, etc.; no storage necessary to store books owned; and a wide variety at your fingertips to instantly obtain reading material.
Cons: Could contribute to visual fatigue; may impact sleep patterns by decreasing the production of melatonin if used before going to sleep, provides no tactile experience, needs a power source to recharge; and studies suggest that memory retention is less than reading on paper.
Ultimately, it is the reader’s choice, and as the comments suggest, it doesn’t always have to be an either/or decision. Read the full article here.
