READ BOOKS, WIN A PRIZE! ∙ JANUARY 2 – FEBRUARY 28, 2024

HOW IT WORKS:

• Visit the Reference Desk at the library to sign up and receive your Word Search Challenge card.
• Anyone 18+ is welcome to register (certain squares will require a Palisades Free Library card to access online resources).
• Read books that fit into the categories on the bingo card between Thursday, January 2 and Friday, February 28 (or complete the listed tasks).
• You may only count one task per book. Fill in the titles of the items as you finish them.
• Complete 5 tasks to win a $5 Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts gift card. Each additional task you complete earns you an entry for our grand prize--a box of delicious snacks. The more you read and do, the more chances you have to win! Word Search cards must be submitted by March 4th.

SUBMITTING BOOK REVIEWS:

To complete the square asking you to write a book review, pick up a paper form at the library (one will be provided when you register for the winter  reading program) or you can submit your review online (link opens a Google form, no sign-in required). It’s quick, easy, and fun.  If you choose to, you can share your review with friends and neighbors by having it posted to the Palisades Free Library Blog.

FINDING BOOKS:

Ask at the Reference Desk for help finding books to complete your Word Search Challenge card, check out the Online Guide, or try out NoveList (sign in from home with your library card number and PIN).

OTHER CHALLEGES:

The word search card also includes some e-Resources Palisades Free Library cardholders can try for free anytime! All you need is your library card number, and, in some cases, your PIN or password.
Watch a movie or documentary on Kanopy (or download the Kanopy app on your phone, tablet, or smart TV!).
Read or listen to a book on Libby or Hoopla (or download the Libby/Hoopla app on your phone or tablet).
Listen to music on Hoopla (or download the Hoopla app on your phone, tablet, or smart TV!).
Use Novelist to pick out a new book to read.
Read an article on the Wall Street Journal.
