Marybeth recommended “Saving Grace” to me.  She pointed out that the main setting was Sneden’s Landing, which added interest to the story.  Although the author mentions the Landing, Piermont, Sparkill and Northvale, I don’t think she really knows the area.  Her main character Grace Chapman needed her home to be charming, close to New York and upscale.  Setting accomplished.

This was a great snowy day read.  It actually, to me, had the feel of a forties movie.  Younger woman marries an older famous author.  She creates the perfect home for her demanding husband.  Everyone envies her because they think she has “the perfect life.”  When she hires a new assistant for her husband, think Eve Harrington in “All About Eve, Grace’s world slowly collapses.

An easy to read novel, which is interspersed with recipes, because Grace is a great cook.  I knew how the book was going to end, but kept on reading.9781250047335_p0_v3_s114x166
