On their fifth wedding anniversary, Amy disappears under mysterious circumstances and, of course, Nick- her husband, is the first suspect. Having lived in New York and then moved to Nick’s small hometown in Missouri, Amy never fit in. They had both lost their jobs and now Nick had borrowed money from Amy to open up a bar. I don’t want to give too much away, but this thriller was a good read. As much as you want to pin the disappearance/murder on Nick, Flynn keeps coming up with other possibilities. Reminded me of the Scott and Lacey Petersen case. Somewhat of a surprise ending. As you follow the case and search for evidence and Amy, your conclusions flip when the chapters get told from Amy’s point of view.
