Museum Passes
The library has membership in four area museums.  These museums allow us to lend our member passes to our library users.  The passes allow free admission for a family and can be checked out for 3 days. 

Patrons with Palisades Free Library cards may reserve passes in advance.  Passes must be picked up on the day for which they are reserved.

The Intrepid Museum Pass is only available to Palisades Card-Holders.

Only one pass per family may be checked out at a time.

The fine for overdue passes is $10 a day.

Guggenheim Museum New Harmony: Abstraction between the Wars, 1919-1939 May 10 - September 8, 2013. Explore a particularly rich facet of the Guggenheim’s 20th-century collection, celebrating the spirited trends in abstraction embraced among international artists working in Europe between the World Wars. The exhibition—titled for a 1936 Paul Klee painting of utopian geometry that reflects the artist’s interest in color theory and musical composition—features approximately 40 paintings, sculptures, and works on paper by some 20 artists, including Alexander Calder, Alberto Giacometti, Fernand Léger, Francis Picabia, and Joaquín Torres-García.
Hudson Highlands Nature Museum   At the Wildlife Education Center: Meet The Animals Open Friday through Sunday 12:00 - 4:00pm. "Meet The Animals" Saturday and Sunday at 1pm (March only) and 2:30pm year round. Trout Weekend Sat & Sun, June 15 & 16, 2013 Meet baby and adult Brook Trout and learn why "Brookies" were named the official Freshwater Fish of New York State. Brook Trout programs at 1pm & 2:30pm Trout Feedings at 1:30pm & 3pm Brook Trout crafts & snacks for kids!
Intrepid Sea Air & Space Museum   The Space Shuttle Pavilion is scheduled to open on July 10th.   Summer Salute to Heroes- May 1st to September 1st. Join us for a summer filled with dynamic, educational and fun experiences for all ages! Summer Salute to Heroes will kick off with our Memorial Day Weekend celebration, honoring our service men and women. Join the rest of our Summer Salute to Heroes line-up, honoring heroes past and present and inspiring those of the future. Celebrate our heroes throughout the summer with events including: Father’s Day, Firefighter Appreciation Weekend, SpaceFest, US Coast Guard Day, Intrepid’s 70th Commissioning Anniversary, and our free Summer Movie Series. New York City Fire Museum Did you know? The museum, in conjunction with the New York City Fire Department, operates a world-class fire safety education program designed to teach participants how to prevent fires within the home and importantly, how to protect themselves and escape should one occur. Over 10,000 children learn about fire prevention at the Museum each year.   9/11 Memorial Room Honors the emergency workers who gave their lives on 9/11/01.
