KIDS 2017 SUMMER READING PROGRAM
Registration Begins – Tuesday, June 20
Program Ends – Thursday, August 3

What Is It?
The Children's Summer Reading Program is a free, 6-week program, built around the theme Build A Better World, to encourage kids going into Grades K - 5 to keep reading over the summer months.    It is very flexible and consists of reading incentives (prizes, sticker, raffle tickets) and a series of fun programs to attend.

The purpose of the SRP is to nurture a love of reading and to prevent a “summer slide” in reading skills. Kids are encouraged to read whatever is of interest to them.  Books, magazines, graphic novels, e-books and audiobooks all count.  Content may be fiction or non-fiction.

Kids who are at camp or away on vacation may still participate in the program. Register and pick up a reading log before you go or we can e-mail you one. Track your reading while you’re away and, when you return, we will catch you up with prizes, stickers, and raffle tickets.

Answers to some common questions about the SRP may be found below along with links to the South Orangetown School District, RCLS, and ALSC book lists.
